GECKO Culinary Adventures specialises in quick and easy gourmet cooking, teaching you how to create fabulous meals without spending hours in the kitchen! We are passionate about food and will discover hidden talents by inspiring and motivating even the most reluctant of ‘chefs’. Our fresh hands-on approach offers company teams an environment where they can be innovative, make decisions and mistakes together in a relaxed non-work environment, whilst interacting on a social level. These events are highly successful amongst small and large companies alike.

Clients such as Standard Bank, JT Ross Group, Investec Bank, Illovo Sugar, Tysons Property Group, Deneys Reitz, Dulux and Nedbank to name but a few, have enjoyed a fun team build or cooking event here at GECKO. We are able to cater for up to 36 people for a team build event and will tailor make the event to suit the size of the group.

Situated in Musgrave Road, Berea, the venue provides a safe, non-threatening environment for everyone to be able to participate at the same level, whether an accomplished cook or not! It doesn’t take long before even the most reticent suddenly become bold and someone sends the whole class into hysterics by showing us how not to do things or by showing off their “culinary genius”!

Classes are relaxed and interactive, taking the form of demonstrations and hands on work, where participants work together to prepare gourmet dishes, and then enjoy the meal at the end. All events take approximately 3 - 3½ hours.

GECKO offers a variety of team building events such as:

• Intimate cooking classes which are interactive and fun – works well with a smaller group of between 10 – 20 people, for client entertainment, staff incentives, etc. Choose from one of our gourmet menus or try your hand at exotic cuisine from France, Portugal, the Caribbean, Thailand, Morocco and many more!
• Gourmet WEBER Braai events. GECKO is proudly sponsored by WEBER. Learn to master the art of the gourmet braai! WEBER braai events for companies have proven very successful with companies returning over and over again to add to their repertoire.
• If you are looking for an event that is a bit shorter in duration, try your hand at our Appetizer Challenge making gourmet hors d'oeuvres (no pigs in a blanket here). It's all in the presentation! Everyone will showcase their culinary masterpieces in a grand buffet style, for all enjoy.
• If your team needs a little pressure, then what about a Kitchen Competition such as a Mystery Basket cook off or a Barter and Bribe contest where participants become contestants and have to rely on good communication and teamwork for success?

BOOKINGS:

1. To ensure we can accommodate your group, please contact us well in advance of your planned function.

2. There is a minimum charge which equates to 10 participants per event.

3. You bring:

• Refreshments – or we can arrange on your behalf;
• Cameras - to capture moments of culinary genius;
• Flat comfortable shoes;
• Something warm to wear, just in case – we eat on the veranda with an awesome view.

Corporate gifts can be arranged such as aprons embroidered with your company logo or "theme" aprons, WEBER braai accessories, WEBER recipe books, kitchen utensils, quality olive oil, balsamic vinegar, etc.

PRICES:

Prices include venue, staff, crockery, cutlery and everything you need to participate in cooking such as recipes, aprons to wear whilst cooking, utensils, knives, chopping boards and all the ingredients, as well as the feast at the end!

Team building events held away from the GECKO premises will be quoted for separately.
